2009 Grammy Performances

***Videos No Longer Available****

Even without the two performances that I really wanted to see last night (Chris Brown and Rihanna - still saddened by it all), the Grammy's sported some really good acts last night. From killer performances by Carrie Underwood, to surprising duets by Coldplay and Jay -Z, there was a performance for every genre preference. Here are my Top 5 performances. It was really hard to narrow it down.

#1 Carrie Underwood - Last Name

WOW! Who knew Carrie Underwood had her own "Sasha Fierce" inside of her? Carrie stole the show last night with this energetic, sexy performance of her Grammy-winning hit "Last Name" I have never seen Carrie so confident on stage. Makes me want to buy tickets for her next tour. Did I mention those legs? WOW!

#2 Sugarland and Adele - Stay, and Chasing Pavements

Its a given.. I totally love Adele. I only knew Sugarland from last year when they performed "irreplaceable" with Beyonce (just recently found out that Sugarland took their rendition on the road...), but I have a new found respect for the Grammy Award winning group. The lead singer has some chops!

Adele looked great and sounded even better! Does she ever mess up when singing
live? I don't think so!

#3 M.I.A, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil' Wayne, and T.I. - Swagga Like Us

I think that M.I.A. is one of the coolest girls out there! She has this natural swag about her that I love. HEr outfit... not a fan, but since she literally had contractions before her performance last night, I would have been happy with her singing in a Hospital Gown! I always wanted to see this song performed live, to include M.I.A. and my wish was granted last night! Awesome!

#4 Radiohead and USC Band - 15 Step

I never heard this song. I never rally listened to Radiohead.. but I LOVED this performance. He was dancing to his own beat, but it was hot. I think I like anything with a Marching Band in the back. Yes, I even think I would like Lil' Mamas commentary on ABDC is she used a marching band behind her.

#5 T.I. and Justin Timberlake - Dead and Gone

JT knows how to make a song hot. T.I. always had so much energy on stage, so it was a perfect duo.

I didn't really have any choices for worst performance, but I have to say that Katy Perry's performance had to be the most awkward and uncomfortable performance to watch. Her dancing and moving around the stage was very weird. I love her voice however. I think she just needs to stand still in front of a mic and sing. I also turned the channel when Kid Rock performed, and I wasn't too enthused about the duet from Robert Plant either...
