Old Folks Beef: Etta James vs. Beyonce

OK, why is it that Beyonce continues to have beef with all of these old 60+ women in music? First, it was Diana Ross during the time of Dreamgirls. Then, Aretha Franklin had issues with Beyonce after Beyonce called Tina Turner "The Queen. Now, Etta James says that she can't stand Beyonce and is going to whoop her A$@!

This comes after Beyonce sang an Etta James classic "At Last" at the Neighborhood Ball for President Barack Obama, (who she claims "ain't her President") and First Lady Michelle's first dance. Beyonce did an awesome job with the song, and since Beyonce has re-recorded the song as hers, why is it a problem that she sang it? Etta says that Beyonce had no business singing the song, but Beyonce had ALL the business singing the song. James was right.. its BUSINESS! I have an issue with people who think that younger folks owe them something, especially when they are gifted in their own way. Granted, I have said it before on the Ave that Beyonce is a biter, and she doesn't really have any originality, but the girl does what she does very well.

And Etta James sounds like she is still on whatever drugs she was on back in the day. Obama isn't her President? The one with the Big Ears? What is wrong with this lady? Who even takes her seriously? I want to know exactly how many people were at this little concert performance when she decided to go off about President Obama and Beyonce? Etta james was made popular AGAIN by Beyonce.. and not really that popular because the movie didn't do well in the box office. Furthermore, Obama probably isn't your President.. He didn't win the election on whatever world your drugs take you... And finally Etta, you are 79 years old, please take your glucosamine and take a seat, At Last!
