Diddy did the Mohawk back in 2004... Sure, it was different and edgy and not too many Black men had ever tried such a thing... But don't you think some of you are taking it way too far with the Mohawk? I am soooo over seeing them as I walk down the street. Especially those of you who cut the mohawk into your hair 3 weeks ago, and don't have the decency to maintain it, and it ends up looking like you have the mange in your hair! If you have straight hair, then feel free to mohawk every day (think Angelina Jolie's oldest son). If your hair is curly and fine, then you can subtly style your hair into a mohawk (think Justin Timberlake), then that's cool. If you have coarse, curly hair.. you really shouldn't try the mohawk anymore. The only mohawk style that I can say looked stylish and tasteful was Chris Brown at the BET Awards. Barbers, I know you need the money, but PLEASE tell your clients that cutting the mohawk into their hair is WHACK!
Let Mr. T be the last one to rock the Hawk...
AMEN to that my brother.
ReplyDeleteI have to make a "2 cents" comment about what people value most when it comes to fashion. I believe comfort and cost go hand in hand in many cases. For example, I bought 2 pairs of jeans from express a few years ago... 1 pair is still holding strong, but the other is coming apart. I usually buy jeans with the intent of having them endure through the years and I can usually match that endurance with the price. Express has reasonable prices and they are quite comfy. -justin willis
