2008 Emmy's: Red Carpet Rundown

The 60th Annual Emmy Awards aired last night on ABC. John Adams and 30 Rock were the big winners of the night. Even Colonel Tailor from A Different World won an Emmy for best guest appearance on a TV Drama. As far as the red carpet, there were tons of yellow dresses and jewel tones, showing that bright and bold is in for the new season. Let's take a look at what I thought about the red carpet.

Metallic Beauties- They get a category of their own:

Heidi Klum - I wonder which Project Runway contestant had to make this dress for her? It looks great on her though.

Eva Longoria - Boy, to be 7 months pregnant, she sure looks good (sarcasm, she really isn't pregnant, but the press insists that she is)! I was a bit cautious of the dress at first, since its the Emmy's. But then I got off my traditional horse and realized that you can do anything as long as it looks good and you feel good about it. There is no doubt that this dress is sick, and probably the most fashion-forward dress on the red carpet.

Best Dressed:

Nicolette Sheridan - Flawless.. purple is so the "it" color, although most people opted for yellow. The detailing on this dress is bananas.

Jeremy Piven - Choosing a pinstripe as opposed to a dark solid suit is so unconventional for the Emmy's, and he does it so well. His tie is the perfect shape, and he always carries the Ari swagger wherever he goes.

Olivia Wilde - Enchanting. Stunning. Love it.

Brooke Shields - She looks great in this dress. Everything is put together so well. The dress and the hair compliment each other very well. Again, we have someone embracing the trend of bright colors in the fall.

Cast of Entourage - All the guys are excellent examples of how to wear a tailored suit or tuxedo. I'm loving that Kevin Connolly, better known as "E", went with a navy blue suit.

Tina Fey - Looks great, but honestly I just love her and she could have worn an outfit by Lil' Mama or Solange and I still would have put her in this category. Direct quote from her: "It would help me alot, if I can stop playing Sarah Palin on November 5" I totally agree!

What Were They Thinking:

Pheobe Price - There is always one... when the night was going so well with people making small fashion mistakes... we get someone like her who decides that any publicity is good publicity.. so here is more pub. for you!

Jane Krakowski - she is proud of the back of her dress, but it looks sloppy and unflattering. I wouldn't have been so proud. I love her on 30 Rock though.

Wanye Brady - You look at him and tell me why he is on my worst list... He had the nerve to say that he is stylish and knows how to coordinate without the use of a stylist... yeah, well someone should have told you to lose the whack sunshades, and to wear a more structured dress shirt if you plan to leave it untied and unbuttoned.

Holly Hunter - This looks like a prom dress that could be purchased on the sale rack at Macy's.

Dana Delany - Its Vintage, but it really looks vintage, as if the person who wore it back in 1958 should have it on again. It looks cheap.
Alan Cumming - Is he serious? Plaid is in, but not at the Emmy's, and not worn like this ever!

Better Luck Next Time:

America Ferrera - The big ruched dress, with the hair to match... too much volume from head to toe.

Jennifer Love Hewitt - I think its the hair... And maybe the contrast of the dark braiding on a white dress.. I just can't get myself to like it, but it doesn't suck either.
