After the most historic events of my lifetime occurred Tuesday night, I witnessed strong emotions from so many different people. Tears of joy that their Democratic Party was victorious, tears of relief for those of us who worked for the campaign, and even unexplainable tears from those who have been waiting to see this moment for so long and have finally seen a change in America..
... Then on the screen I see some tears that have yet to convince me of any reality.. You guessed right.. Jesse Jackson! The same man who wanted to cut the nuts off of Barack Obama is now on the screen bawling as if his life depended on it! I see Jesse Jackson Sr. (love his son and hope that he becomes a part of the US Senate) as a Loud, silent hater... Vocal about Obama's shortcomings, yet trying to act as if he still supported his campaign. In my eyes, I think that those tears were a combination of joy, guilt AND regret, because he probably felt that this moment could have been him back in 1988. But no! Being Black is not what gave Obama this win, had being black been the only criteria, then yes Jesse, it would have been you against Bush back in 1988, but it takes tact, ethics, INTEGRITY, and charm to run the race Obama ran. And the "mouth open" doesn't add any effect to your tears, nor does it make it any more believable!
So take this as a lesson learned, when you vocally oppose someone, and get exposed for horrific remarks against the president elect, it makes you irrelevant once that person goes against your adversity. Sad it has to be that way, especially since Jesse Jackson did play a part in civil rights activism, but take it from Marion Jones.. one bad mistake can completely discount all that you stood for in the past! Here are some other reasons that Jesse could have been "crying:"
1. As a civil rights activist, he has the right to be emotional for the election of a President that happens to be Black
2. He wishes it was him
3. He feels guilty and regretful of his inappropriate comments pertaining to Obama's campaign
4. he realized WHY it wasn't him back in 1988
5. He felt compelled to cry, even if he didn't want to
6. His son supports Obama more than he supports his father
7. He is thinking about that child support he has to pay
I'll stop at 7, but I'm sure you have many more you can think of.. Leave comments!
P.S. Can you even get close enough to the President to cut his nuts off?? DOUBT IT!
P.P.S. Come on yall.. this was so fake! If he were really crying out of joy, don't you think he would have clapped with the folks around him started their uproar??
