If you have an ounce of interest in US news, you have already heard about the Illinois Governor who gives Tony Soprano a run for his money..
Governor Rob Blagojevich (us Bloggers simply call him Blago), and his Chief of Staff were arrested by FBI agents on federal conspiracy charges.
Most importantly, it is alleged that Blago tried to sell President-Elect Obama's Senator seat for the following perks:
- A high-paying job at a either a non-profit foundation or an organization affiliated with labor unions
- A board position for his wife (who was caught in the background of the FBI's phone taps raging about getting rid of the Cubs)
- Promises of campaign funds
- A position in the new Administration, preferably in the Department of Health (how do you suppose this work since you threatened not to withold funds to the children's hospital if they didn't support your campaign?)
This is where it gets good (and Avenue Swank-esque):
The FBI arrested Blago and took him straight to court. All news describes Blago as wearing a Jogging suit to court..
A JOGGING SUIT?!?! To a courtroom?? First off, if you think you have so much money, could you not be wearing a jogging suit? Secondly, how funny is it that the media found it important to stress his wardrobe? The Jogging suit and that thick deep comb over isn't a trustworthy mix.
Ahhhh, you can always count on the Ave to focus NOT on what you did, but what you were wearing when you did it!
