Obama to Nominate Sotomayor for Supreme Court

CNN reports that President Obama will officially select Federal Judge Sonia Sotomayor as his nomination for Supreme Court Justice. This comes after many weeks of speculation and controversy as to who (or "what," in most cases) Obama will choose as his nomination. Sotomayor, if confirmed, will be the first Latina on the SCOTUS, and the third woman to be selected. Sotomayor, raised in a housing project in the Bronx, has a very interesting past that will play an integral part of her tenure as a Supreme Court Judge. President Obama will formally nominate Sotomayor at 10:15am today, and you can most certainly catch it in its entirety on CNN. I encourage you to watch CNN, MSNBC and Fox News today to see the reactions of each "side" of politics. Minutes after the announcement, we all will find out more about Sotomayor than we would have ever imagined.
