Michelle Obama Fashion: Arrival to Mumbai

President and First Lady Obama arrived in Mumbai earlier this morning, beginning a two-week Asian visit for the President. First Lady Obama, who departed the US in a printed dress with flat knee boots, arrived to Mumbai in button down dress, pearls and (of course) kitten heels.

My best part of the look is the First Lady's face; I don't know much about hair and makeup, but I do know when it is stunning, and this is definitely one of those times! The outfit, however, was defeated by the overabundance of buttons.

The buttons and the pearls are working against each other in this look. The buttons actually look like pearls, and with that look going all the way down the dress, and then all around her neck, it looks as if she has gone pearl crazy! The print in the dress would work better as a shift dress or wrap dress; thats not the First Lady's fault. You may also notice how the dress seems to be ill-fitting; again, its the buttons... With such a flowy material paired with the buttons, it gives the First Lady no method of keeping the front of the dress in perfect vertical shape. I won't even get started with the kitten heels...
