The Organic by John Patrick Fall 2012 Collection was an environmentally sound display of tomboy chic, with hidden silhouettes mixed with heavy layering and quilted fabrics The looks were androgynous, with a feminine mystique that emerged through floral prints and pleated skirts.
John Patrick remained true to his Organic namesake with the use of recycled fabrics, and the vegetable dyeing technique, which produced some very rich colors for the collection. The denim pieces in the collection was a collaboration with the popular brand Raleigh Denim, and added a rugged element to the simplicity of the collection. The color palette was muted yet rich; the merlot cashmere/merino hand-loomed scarf was a surprising pop of color to the palette, introducing a true sense of Autumn. A favorite piece from the collection was the wool herringbone quilted anorak; its wearability could essentially cross genders with a few small tweaks.
