Obama Fashion: Barack Obama's Suit from the DNC

The Democratic National Convention was a week full of historical moments, and fashionable moments as well. We saw current and potential leaders of our country in wise, and sometimes unwise fashion decisions, and we hope that the energy they could have used in picking the right outfit, they can use for running the US.

One fashion choice that was definitely a wise one, was that of Barack Obama on the night of his speech. I already gave my two thumbs up for the suit and that silk tie, but here is more info about the suit, in case any of you inspired by Obama feel as if you could be more like him if you could dress like him.

The Next President (Obama '08) wore a two-button suit with a center vent, custom tailored by Chicago's own Hartmarx Corp. Hartmarx is the same company that manufactures designer label Hickey Freeman, but Sen. Obama decided against the larger name Hickey and went with Union Member-Made Hart Schaffner Marx. Choosing a suit made by union workers is a plus for Obama, should his loyalty to the group that started his career path to its current destination.

If you're wondering, Michelle's dress was made by Thakoon.

This week, if Gustav permits, we will see McCain do his acceptance speech. I doubt if he even knows what a union is, but I can see him wearing something at both extremes... something made by Canali, or suit separates straight from Sears... Check him out at the Republican National Convention this week.
