With the new season, comes the comeback of Lil' Mama... a MESS. I don't even have to begin with her outfits, although I am glad she is opting out of wearing those bedazzled hats.. the cheap weave is still in effect however.
Let's talk about her gaffs and phrases said on the first episode
"You guys are very.. Characteristic" - How can you BE Characteristic? That is not an adjective... you can HAVE a characteristic, but there is no possible way for a group to be very Characteristic.
The crying scene - OK, the Ringmasters group is weird, with all the contortion and everything...but NOTHING in that performance warranted the huge dramatic outburst of emotion from Lil' Mama... Crying because they "made it" and they are from Brooklyn hustlin and grindin' but what have they actually made it to? The second round? Nothing against the guys, and I don't know their story to judge them, but I do know enough about Lil' Mama to know she is a mess and the crying was not necessary.. she, like myself, don't know anything about those guys except for the fact that they have no bones in their backs or arms.
"Bring it" - Ok, what is IT? And, since the dancers are performing for about 90 seconds, what is the threshold of having "moments" and "bringing it"? This goes to Lil' Mama and JC Chasez... Quest killed their performance, but JC and Lil Mama said that they only had moments.. OK they perform for 90 seconds and you both identify about 8 "moments" So 8 moments, at about 10 seconds each.. that's 80 seconds.. so surpassing the majority of the performance they had moments.. sounds like "bringing it" to me!
As you can see, I like Quest (featuring Hak and Dominic from So you think you can dance) and Beat Freaks aren't too far behind. Those B Girls are killing it! The Strikers Allstars aren't too bad either.. they have a "stomp the yard" vibe to them.
Catch the new episode next Thursday at 10pm when they create performances to Britney Spears! I hope someone kills "Slave 4 U"
