Maria Pinto Spring 2010 Collection

Elements in opposition, bound together in balanced asymmetry, make up Maria Pinto's Spring 2010 Collection. Set in the Banchet Florist in the Meatpacking District, the ambiance, craftsmenship, and warm heart of the designer really elevated the level of class of this Installation.

Each piece was cleverly made, such beautiful illusions of texture. The imagery of panneling and vertical lines were present throughout the collection. The styling of each model was perfect for a modern take of a sexy Argentine night. Even the accessories were top notch; I love how the jade ring works so well with the beaded Carmen skirt. Each accessory gave the just right amount of pop to each piece, giving it a flirty, edgy accent.

My Favorite Looks from the Collection:

Carmen Skirt -The detail in this dress is bananas! Crystal embedded, with Peony organza and Clematis ebroidery

Gardel Dress - This beautiful piece is made with a ultra soft, lightweight leather that could survive any Spring Day or Evening. The concept of sharp vertical lines are seen in this piece as well. The color of the Mud Ricoletta Leather is so intriguing that it was the first look caught my eye as I walked into Banchet.

Zuma Trench - Sensual, sleek, structured and Chic! This piece truly demonstrated Maria's influence from the Argentine Tango.

When speaking of Maria Pinto, you have to mention her works with Michelle Obama, and there were quite a few looks within Pinto's new collection that would be perfect for our First Lady. I think Michelle-O would look awesome in the Gardel Dress!

The collection had a look for every aspect of a woman. From the fun, flirty girl on the town, to the First Lady of the United States, any woman would want to wear the new collection.
