Review: Elie Tahari Fall 2011 Fashion Show

Sophisticated can become quite cliche in fashion jargon, but it takes craft, skill, and luxury to make that word have truth in meaning.  Elie Tahari does just that, using rich fabrics, eye-catching accessories and expert tailoring for his Fall 2011 Collection.  The collection, influenced by dark romanticism, introduced by "the cinematic movement of an antique music box," was immersed in dimension, illusion, and texture.  The looks were crafted with immaculate detailing; using leather and animal prints in very unassuming and unique positions.  Chiffon, wool, and fur were the fabrics of choice, as autumnal colors were deepened into hues of wine, sepia and deep port.  Sophistication was expertly mixed with sexy as lace and chiffon blouses created hip, chic looks that added edge to the collection.
