Review: Haider Ackermann Fall 2011
With huge buzz, and a fan base consisting of Karl Lagerfield (who needs anyone else as a fan?), its no wonder Haider Ackermann gave Paris a breathtaking show, meeting the high expectations of a growing popularity. What made this collection so breathtaking is that Ackermann was able to add elegance and glamour without having to incorporate dramatic gowns and over-the-top hair and makeup. The looks, including hair and makeup, were structured and masculine, yet undoubtedly executed for the female physique. Exaggerated belts, flowy silk trousers, and asymmetrical tuxedo jackets were done in jewel toned hues, staying true to the vision and signature looks from the Colombian born designer.
