Band of Outsiders Spring/Summer 2011 Men's Collection
Impeccable, wearable, masculine, fresh looks from Band of Outsiders - this brand never does us wrong! The collegiate man is totally in trend this season, and Band of Outsiders is giving us dope, debonaire dorm room looks for the Spring/Summer 2011 season.

Davidelfin Spring/Summer 2011

"Destroy and Rebuild" is the part of the inspiration that best describes the Davidelfin Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. The looks were repetitive in nature, yet each look had a distinct piece missing, or added from a total look. The straps held each piece together (not literally). The neon straps worked at times, and sometimes it seemed a bit random. I really liked the accent the straps added to the bags the men carried in the show.
Photos: Style.comI saw pieces in the collection that could really work in editorials and maybe a red carpet (I'm thinking Janelle Monae); the deconstructed tuxedo look, indicative of Davidelfin, was done with taste, and didn't appear to be a jacket with long material attached to it.. it was all done on purpose, and that was conveyed in the collection.

Favorite Looks: 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring/Summer 2011

One of my favorite looks of last week's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has to be this jacket by Phillip Lim. From the 3.1 Phillip Lim Collection, this shear coat gives an illusion of being tweed, which isn't normally a fabric for the spring/summer seasons. I really can't even give a good description of this coat.. its just SICK! What a genius design -- I love smart fashion!
Spring/Summer 2011 Trend: Leather
Designers are pushing us to extend our leather weather into the Spring/Summer seasons. From vests, to skirts and hats, leather will be a must-have for both men and women. Of course, be sure to be smart while being on top of trends; if there is another heat wave next Spring/Summer, don't risk heat stroke for the sake of looking great.

Review: Binetti Spring/Summer 2011

I was blown away yet again by the creative mind of Diego Binetti. Beautiful gowns, dresses, full of drama and glitz, but done with infinite taste. The looks were styled and edited so impeccably, all the way down to the gold nails and pearl details on some of the models. The shoes were SICK! I know you ladies are dying for the shoes! Binetti may have had the smallest venue in Lincoln center, but he made a large impact on the fashion world this season!
Victoria Secret's VIP Lounge - Sneak Peeks, Celebs, and Luxury
The Victoria Secret VIP Suite provide comfort, celeb sightings, and sneak peeks during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. After a long morning of shows, I stopped by the Kaplan Penthouse to check out the suite, and it was a fashion guy's dream! Yes GUY, as there was food, massages, and Victoria Secret models on the wall - who else would have appreciated that?? Ladies loved it too, for the manicure station and free goodies I'm sure. The celeb sightings an added bonus as well; some seen at the lounge were Emma Stone, Kourtney Kardashian, Gabrielle Union, Denise Richars, Emma Roberts, Kristen Chenowith, and Veronica Webb.

In addition to the new holiday collections, we also got a sneak peek of some of the looks for this years Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Judging from the sketches, we should expect another high energy, sexy superhero show in December!

Runway Review: Mik Cire Spring/Summer 2011
One of my favorite brands for outerwear, Mik Cire, gave me true masculine edge in his new Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.

Designer of the Mik Cire brand, Eric Kim presented us with looks that are relaxed, fresh, and dimensional; all while keeping the looks masculine. The collection gave us texture and dimension with leathers, linens and moto shorts with thermals underneath. My favorite looks were basically anything assymetrical; from the lambskin jackets to the cardigans and vests, the collection gave the dimensions necessary to enhance the swag of the modern man. The looks are so transitional in that you could move the looks from the summer into the fall season with ease by throwing on a pair of thermals and layering with a simple top.

Runway Review: General Idea Spring/Summer 2011
The General Idea Spring/Summer 2011 Collection is all about the journey back to the familiar. Bumsuk Choi, creative director of the General Idea brand, used natural colors and silhouettes, and fabrics including cotton, tencel, linen and polyester. While my favorite looks were the jackets and the more simple looks, General Idea's collection also included very vibrant prints and color splashes in some of its looks as well.

The outerwear in this collection is totally me! Metallic hardware, bright colors and tons of collar drama! I'll take each of these looks immediately!

Affordable Prep: Nautica Spring/Summer 2011
The Nautica Spring/Summer 2011 collection gives us preppy, classic looks for the American Male who cares about appearance with minimal effort. Inspired by the spirit of water, the collection included colors typical of a nautical adventure in the summer. From light blues to orange and madras accents, the collection is wearable, masculine, and perfect for endless seasons. The best part of the collection is that its polished, bright, and won't break the wallet!

Tadashi Shoji Spring Summer 2011 Collection
True craftsmanship and simple elegance is how I describe the Spring 2011 Collection by Tadashi Shoji. Shoji, inspired by 15th century elegance and romance, used airy, crisp colors described as an "icy cool color pallette os the Venetian landscape and architecture." Shoji's looks were very young and fresh, yet sophisticated enough for the Red Carpet.Backstage Access: Zero + Maria Cornejo Spring Summer 2011
Backstage shots for Zero +Maria Cornejo. Makeup done by Shiseido under the direction of Dick Page. Ladies, to get this look, use lip balm around the eyes and use Shiseido's Opera (color GD804) over the eyelid. Very simple right? That's what the team was going for.. Simplicity with a bit of shine.
