Michelle Obama Fashion: National Governor's Association Black-Tie

On the night of the Oscars, Washington D.C. had their own night of the stars. The Obamas hosted their first gala on Sunday night for the National Governors Association. Alongside President Obama, who wore a nicely tailored tuxedo, First Lady Michelle Obama wore a purple straples sequins gown by Chicago native Peter Soronden. Like Peter Wu, Soronden is a fairly new designer, which is favored by Michelle. I like the dress, as sequence is all the rave right about now for women's formalwear, but I think she over accessorized with the bulky pearl and diamond neck ornament. This dress could only afford some nice earrings and maybe a bracelet, but the necklace weighs the dress down too much.
